Log Stores

The base, sides and back of our standard range log stores are made of solid, 25mm (1”) thick softwood timber to create a secure structure to withstand the weight of logs. They are spaced to allow ventilation providing good air circulation around the logs.

The roof is made from overlapping timber boards and is shower-proof, there may be an occasional ingress of water during heavy rainstorms but this will have no significant affect on the dryness of the logs stored.

Along with our kindling and coal storage we can combine our log stores and wheelie bin/recycling storage units contact us for details.

As an additional service we can deliver and site your log store, then fill it with seasoned logs so you are ready to go.

LOG STORE SITING

Your log store is used either to season wet logs in preparation for burning them or to store already seasoned logs for burning. Therefore you should site your log store in a well ventilated area to allow air movement throughout the log stack, this is much more important then being in a sunny spot where only the front edges will dry out.

We recommend that the surface you put your log store on is level and well drained but not directly on grass or soil. It is also ideal to use the strips of membrane provided under the feet of the log store to minimise the absorption of water into the log store and logs.
